The following routes are best if traveling to Hendersonville by car: I-26 west from Greenville/Spartanburg, SC; I-85 south to 74 west to I-26 west from Charlotte, NC; I-40 west to I-26 east from Greensboro/Winston-Salem, NC; and I-40 east to I-26 east from Knoxville, TN. The Asheville Regional Airport offers a total of 20-25 flights a day served by four airlines, U.S. Airways, Delta, Continental and, coming in June 2004, Northwest Airlines. Local folks also often use Greenville (SC) or Charlotte International for air travel. (Greenville is an hour an 1/2 drive from Hendersonville; Charlotte is two hours.) There are many ground transportation options once you've arrived at any of these airports. (See below.)
