Hendersonville and Etowah Issue Boil Water Advisory

Due to a contractor damaging a City water main on Brickyard Rd. at U.S. Highway 64 West, in addition to City forces repairing a leak discovered on Old U.S. 64 in the Etowah area of the County, the Etowah water system has experienced a water outage throughout the system. This area will be affected by the water outage until City crews are able to repair the damaged water main and restore water to this area of the County.

Customers who live in the Etowah area that have experienced low to no water pressure or have discolored water are advised to boil their water for 3-5 minutes before using for human consumption. Bacteriological testing will be performed in these areas prior to rescinding this advisory.

This advisory is only for those City of Hendersonville water customers in the Etowah area of the County that have experienced low to no water pressure during a water outage.

Additional press releases will be issued as these situations change. For additional information please contact the Water and Sewer Department at 697-3073 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday and 891-7779 after business hours and on weekends.
