The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ Driver License Express office in Asheville is temporarily closed so crews can install a new roof on the office building and install a new air conditioning and heating system.
The express office, located at 600 Tunnel Rd., in Asheville, directly behind the N.C. Highway Patrol office, will be closed for the next several weeks while the installations take place. There is currently no time frame as to when the office will reopen.
Meanwhile, customers can make an appointment at skiptheline.ncdot.gov to visit the full-service driver license office on Patton Ave. in Asheville Mon.-Fri. from 7 a.m.-12 p.m., or can visit the office as a walk-in customer Mon.-Fri. from 12- 5 p.m.
DMV offers driver license renewals and many other services online. Customers are encouraged to check the official DMV website at MyNCDMV.gov to see if their driver license needs can be met online.
