Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS) remains steadfast in its commitment to providing all students with access to wholesome meals throughout their school day. As it gears up for the 2024-2025 academic year, here are some important updates regarding our Child Nutrition Program that you should be aware of:
Universal Breakfast Continues:
HCPS will continue to provide Universal Breakfast throughout the upcoming school year across all 23 schools in the district, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to start their day with a nutritious breakfast, free of charge and without any questions or forms.
No-cost lunches will be available at Eight Eligible Schools:
In alignment with the Federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), eight schools in our district qualify to receive lunch at no cost, eliminating the need for additional forms or applications. All students attending the following schools will enjoy nutritious lunches without any cost:
- Bruce Drysdale Elementary
- Clear Creek Elementary
- Dana Elementary
- Edneyville Elementary
- Henderson County Career Academy
- Hillandale Elementary
- Sugarloaf Elementary
- Upward Elementary
Changes to the School Lunch Program:
For parents and guardians of students attending any one of the fifteen schools below, it’s important to note changes to the School Lunch Program for the upcoming academic year.
To ensure seamless access to meal benefits, parents and guardians of students in these schools will need to complete the 2024-2025 Online Meal Benefit Application Form or arrange for lunch payments for their children:

Lunch Payment Options:
HCPS families are highly encouraged to take advantage of the “prepay” option for their children’s meals. Having a prepaid meal account helps the daily lunch lines move faster and it gives students more time to eat and relax with their friends.
