Garden Jubilee is Historic Hendersonville’s premier lawn & garden show, and one of the largest gardening shows in the Western North Carolina. The Garden Jubilee is a spectacular two day festival, held on Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25 from 9am-5pm both days during the Memorial Day weekend.
Gardening is one of America’s favorite pastimes and the Blue Ridge Mountains provide a healthy environment for growing a vast variety of flowers and plants. Bring wagon or cart to make transporting your plants easier.
The Garden Jubilee Festival showcases more than 200 vendor spaces lining Main Street and the centerpiece of the Festival is the Lowe’s Expo, located at the Visitors Information Center, 201 South Main Street. Southern Living garden expert, Bill Slack and national lawn & garden representatives present a series of free lectures throughout the 2-day show.
Local and regional nurseries will be selling 1000’s of annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs and hard to find plants on every block of the festival. A great way to enhance the beauty of a garden is to add ornamentation. There will be handmade lawn furniture, jewelry, garden tools, yard art, planters, wind chimes, birdhouses, as well as soaps, and pottery. Garden related vendors will be located on Main Street in Historic Downtown Hendersonville from Sixth Avenue to Caswell Street and Main Street will be closed to traffic, with vendors lining both sides of the street. A variety of food vendors will be located in the food court, between Barnwell & Caswell Streets.
The Lowe’s Expo will be at located at the Visitors Information Center, 201 South Main Street, offering garden clinics, a plant sale, a hands-on kids clinic, beautiful yard displays and outdoor equipment. Nationally known lawn and garden product specialists will be offering free one-on-one advice. If you have a question or need advice about your garden or lawn, you’ve come to the right place. A garden expert and national lawn & garden representatives present a series of free lectures throughout the 2-day show. Product representatives from Stay Green, Scotts, Miracle-Gro, Ortho, Roundup, Sevin, Spectracide, Cutter, Pennington Lawn & Garden Products, and Hot Shot will be available in their tents giving out free samples and helpful tips. The Lowe’s Kids Clinic located at the Visitor Information Center will offer free fun hands-on projects for children ages 4-12, from 10am-4pm both days.
Southern Living Magazine’s landscape & garden specialist Bill Slack is a Garden Jubilee favorite and will be returning to the Lowe’s lawn and garden tent located at the Visitors Information Center. Bill Slack has been a landscape and gardening specialist with Southern Living Magazine for 20 years and is making his 11th appearance at Garden Jubilee. He will be giving free clinics in the Lowe’s lawn and garden tent located at the Visitor Information Center, 201 South Main Street. Mr. Slack will offer three talks on Saturday, May 24 -11am “Bedazzled by Color – Eye Catching Annuals & Perennials”, 1pm “Facelift for a Tired Landscape” and 3pm “Curb Appeal – Beauty from the Front Walk to the Front Door” and two on Sunday, May 25 – 1pm “Curb Appeal – Beauty from the Front Walk to the Front Door” and 3pm “Facelift for a Tired Landscape”. He is a registered landscape architect, author and lecturer appearing on many national radio & TV programs. The American Society of Landscape Architects named him the Outstanding Extension Landscape Architect in the United States.
