The City Manager’s Development Forum returns — in a remote format — from noon to 1 p.m. November 19. During the past two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, construction and development has continued in Asheville. While the Development Forum will be held virtually with no in-person components, it offers an opportunity to learn about trends in permitting, commercial and residential projects and City affordable housing initiatives.
There will be three presentations. One update will come from Development Services, another from Planning and Urban Design with the last presentation on affordable housing. There will be a Q&A period after the presentations addressing questions received on the RSVP form linked below. Participants will also be able to submit questions via the comment feature on the City’s Virtual Engagement Hub and staff will address as many as we can.

To register in advance: People can RSVP via this form and they will receive a link to the City Manager Development Forum page. The RSVP is most helpful to people who want to stay updated on the Development Forum and upcoming forums. They can submit questions they’d like the presenters to answer for the Q&A period. It also offers opportunities to network and connect with Minority and Women owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) over construction/development opportunities.

These remote format City meetings are a temporary measure for the health and safety of everyone, as we collectively work through social distancing techniques to prevent the spread of COVID-19, taking into consideration guidance from the CDC, N.C. Department of Health and Human Service and Buncombe County Health and Human Services.
