Camera Club of Hendersonville

Camera Club of Hendersonville is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. General Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of every month at the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce Building located at the intersection of Kanuga Road and Church Street in Hendersonville. Meetings begin at 6:30pm. Visitors and Members enter through the back entrance of the building. Park in either the Chamber parking on the back and side of the building or in the lot across Kanuga Road.

Hendersonville County Multiple Sclerosis Self-Help Group

Self-help groups provide a chance for individuals with MS, their families, friends and other care partners to share common experiences and concerns, provide and receive emotional support, obtain information related to the disease and on various aspects of living and coping with MS. Groups are led by people with MS, and all groups are free of charge. The group meets weekly in Hendersonville; please visit the website for up-to-date meeting information.

At Pardee Cancer Center, we understand that life after a cancer diagnosis requires extra support, care and vigilance. Parkinsons Support Group

Aging Programs

The Council on Aging for Henderson County offers “Lunch at the Sammy,” a congregate dining program at the Sammy Williams Center. The program affords older adults an opportunity to socialize, connect to resources available in the community, and enjoy a nutritious meal in fellowship with others. Membership is free and open to all Henderson County residents who are 60 years of age or older. Fresh meals are prepared daily by the chefs at the Carolina Village and served to members at 11:45, Monday through Friday. Events and activities occur each month, with special events planned around holidays. Stop by for a visit and a guest lunch!

Eating Disorders Anonymous

The meeting, which is offered for those in recovery from all eating disorders including Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge Eating Disorder. The meetings are on Tuesdays, 5:30 pm at 542 N Oak St, Hendersonville, NC 28739.

Donate Blood

The nation’s blood banks, represented by the American Red Cross, American Association of Blood Banks, and America’s Blood Centers, are asking for immediate blood donations to boost already low blood supplies. Blood is traditionally in short supply due to the holidays, travel schedules, inclement weather, and illness.  Individuals are asked to support their local blood centers by making and keeping an appointment to donate immediately.

Hendersonville Woman’s Club

Guided by over a century of service, the Hendersonville Woman’s Club continues to provide a platform for all women to advance the common good with a view toward the future where even small successes, when taken together, are proof of the concept that every individual person makes a difference in creating a better world. Overeaters Anonymous

is a fellowship of men and women who share their struggles and offer support, experience, strength, and hope. Through working a spiritually-based program, participants overcome the compulsion to overeat/undereat.

Hands On WNC

Hands On’s mission is to provide children and families with “hands on” educational experiences that stimulate the imagination and motivate learning in a fun, safe environment.

Guardian ad Litem
Helps neglected and abused children in Henderson County have a voice to represent their best interests. Avg. case takes 3-9 months, approx. 15 hours a month. Ongoing help is needed! Can you be an advocate for a child in need? Volunteers needed to track case progress and help children express their wishes. Full training provided. You can change a child’s life today!
S-Anon

S-Anon is a 12-step recovery program for partners, family and friends of sexaholics. We share our experience, strength and hope to helps solve our common problems.

NAMI Family/Caregiver Support Group

WIC Program

is a federal program that provides nutrition education, supplemental foods,breastfeeding promotion and support and referrals to health care.

Parkinson Disease Support Group

A Family Caregiver Support Group

La Leche League

Meetings are informal and are open to pregnant women, mothers, babies and children. If you have questions about breastfeeding or just would like to meet other breastfeeding mothers, this is the meeting for you.

Food & Nutrition Education Program

Participants learn topics such as food safety, choosing health foods, meal planning, and food budgeting. Participants make weekly appointments for lessons in their homes or at an extension site. Lessons last about one hour and include preparation and hands-on activities.
