Henderson County Public Library System Participates in NC Cardinal Resource Sharing

The Henderson County Public Library is now participating in Resource Sharing through NC Cardinal. Resource Sharing allows patrons to place holds on physical items at any of the 117 library locations that are part of NC Cardinal.

Items will be shipped to the Henderson County branch location of choice. The items now available to patrons total over 5 million!

Last month, the Henderson County Public Library system became the newest member of NC Cardinal and also made the switch to Evergreen as its online catalog. Both of these changes have dramatically increased the number of resources at patron’s fingertips and will greatly improve the overall catalog experience.

NC Cardinal is a growing consortium of public libraries in 35 counties and 3 municipalities across North Carolina dedicated to sharing resources and expanding opportunities through the use of a single online catalog.

Resource sharing items carry the same hold times, check out times, and fines and fees as items in the Henderson County collection.

Patrons can also use their Henderson County Public Library card at any NC Cardinal library throughout the state. This allows patrons to check out and return items while they are away from home for no additional fees.
