Sing, act, improvise, dance, and star in your own short film this summer when Tanglewood Youth Theatre hosts their popular summer program for kids. Tanglewood Youth Theatre has long been a successful and inspirational part of children�s creative education in Western North Carolina. The addition of new courses and instructors, as well as the popular favorites that have been offered for years, makes Tanglewood Youth Theatre a wonderful program for all children interested in exploring the exciting world of theatre. These classes challenge the mind and strengthen theatre skills, helping children to realize and build upon their natural talents and abilities. Tanglewood�s faculty represents some of the finest stage talent in the area.
Backstage Pass will be held at Asheville Community Theatre, located in the heart of downtown Asheville at 35 East Walnut Street. They are offering two two-week sessions where students will spend the day in classes such as Musical Theatre, Writing & Acting for the Camera, Acting, and Movement & Choreography. Each session will culminate with a performance showcase, so that each child will have a chance to perform on the main stage for an audience of family and friends. The cost for Session One, Ages 5-7, is $175 if registered before May 18, and $200 afterwards. The cost for all other ages in both sessions is $275 if registered before May 18, and $300 afterwards. A minimum deposit of $75 of the total is due as a non-refundable deposit at the time of registration. The remaining balance must be paid on or before the first day of the session. Class size is limited and sessions fill quickly. Session Two dates are July 11-22.
